OCCU is looking for an experienced Bankruptcy Specialist to join

our team. Strong candidates will have at least two years of

experience in bankruptcies; this includes all bankruptcy chapters,

PACER, schedule reviews and document filing. The Bankruptcy

Specialist preserves Credit Union’s assets by analyzing member

bankruptcy files and representing the Credit Union in bankruptcy

court and negotiations. They assign accounts to attorneys for

litigation and follow up on legal work. If you have matching

Beginning Salary Range:$20.63 – $25.79 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

Review and process bankruptcy documents.

Identify possible fraud or discrepancies and review cases with

other departments as needed.

Prepare Non-Judicial Relief forms and arrange voluntary

surrender of collateral.

Prepare and assign accounts that require legal action to


Work with member’s attorneys to negotiate reaffirmation

agreements, vehicle values, voluntary surrenders and other


Prepare Non-Judicial Relief forms, reaffirmation agreements and

proofs of claim and file them via the courts electronic filing


Coordinate the mailing of documents to members, trustees and


Attend and represent the Credit Union at bankruptcy hearings as

needed by phone or in person. This could include travel outside of

Eugene (e.g. Salem, Portland, Roseburg, Bend, etc.)

Present account data accurately and negotiate favorable


Monitor and update bankruptcy tracking reports.

Post trustee checks.

Track deadlines and complete work in a fast-paced,

detail-oriented environment.

Deliver Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to staff by being a

resource and providing coaching and training as needed.

Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all

sensitive, confidential and proprietary Credit Union


Must follow all BSA regulations, including completing CTR

reports when applicable, reporting suspicious activity via SAR when

applicable and completing annual training.

Perform other duties as assigned.
