IKEA Greenwich are looking to welcome an experienced, interim Local Marketing & Communication Specialist to their team for a period of around 1 year.

This role encompasses elements of internal communication and the ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, who is comfortable managing stakeholder expectations and taking conversations with the wider organisation at all levels. You are comfortable approaching others and being a point of contact.

You will actively promote co-worker engagement across the store alongside the local P&C team.

Preferred skills, but not essential include; copywriting, video editing and content creation.

Creative thinking skills

Ability to create and express communication which areclear ,focused and easily usable

Multitasking project management skills

Presentation, communication and influencing skills

Self reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

Previous experience in a matching role, with relevant industry background


Working with the Marketing and Communication Leader to plan and implement impactful communication and store events based on our understanding of each segment group and their life at home.

Working with the Marketing and Communication Leader ( Communication & web ) by co-ordinating information, and delivering content to support the local media channels (IKEA FAMILY, Local web pages, Store media) to communicate our home furnishing competence and offers, events to our PMA.

In the occasional absence of the Local marketing specialist (Communication & web) be in a position to support the day to day delivery of this competence profile.

Support the Marketing and Communication Leader to implement the commercial calendar and event plan, based on national priorities and local potential to create vitality and seasonality within the store local media channels.

Working with the Marketing and Communication Leader to execute the local IKEA Family strategy and follow up on the Key Indicators (KPI’s), monitor the volume of store visits via the visitor counter and usage of store local media channels.

Support the Marketing and Communication Leader to execute the home visits and translate the insights for the store units

Support together with a team of internal communication specialists, co-worker engagement for IKEA’s internal communication projects

Drive project management of internal communication projects, taking a co-worker perspective

Work with stakeholder analysis and stakeholder management to ensure a good level of internal communication

Support the enablement of effective internal communication and assist in the creation of prerequisites for our leaders and co-workers to be our best ambassadors

Define, plan, create/execute and follow up on co-worker communications and internal communications

Develop alongside other communicators and tap into wider resources, i.e. social/digital, PR, stakeholder engagement, campaigns etc.

Actively push for improvement of content creation and co-worker engagement, based on trends in communication and the latest developments within the communication field

Work across function within INGKA Group and in good collaboration with other IKEA businesses

This position is a temporary position for around one year, working 39 hours per week. You will work a 5/7 pattern each week, including late evenings and alternate weekends.
